Advent - Dec. 9

December 9
(yes, I missed two days of posting - best intentions :)

Matthew 18:12-14
 (NRSV)

"12 What do you think? If a shepherd has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray? 13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray. 14 So it is not the will of your[a] Father in heaven that one of these little ones should be lost."

The parable of the lost sheep. I so needed to read this today. I am feeling a little weighed down by the problems and sadness that some others around me are feeling.  Other than offering support, comfort and a helping hand there isn't anything that I can really do to help ease their burdens. Its comforting to be reminded that God will came and bring safely home the ones who feel lost.  Let all of us who feel lost know that we will be rejoiced when we are found.

"If we are lost and frightened, count on Jesus to find and bring you safely home."
