"Why Can't We See God?"

 "Is God a Ghost?"

"Why can't I hear God
talking to me?"

"Is God invisible?"

Every Sunday, our younger Sunday school classes gather for a time of prayer and a little singing.  We have a "prayer raccoon" that the kids pass around. When they are holding the stuffed animal, it's their turn to share something that they would like to pray for.  After each concern we say "God in your mercy" and they respond with "hear our prayers." To conclude, we close with a prayer and ask them to sit still, fold their hands in the laps and think about God.  I think this is what has prompted some of our students to really think about who, what, and where God is - and ask some interesting questions lately.  Here is a list of books I suggest for children exploring the identity of God. We will be reading with the kids and they will be available for you to borrow from the church library. Most of them are also available at the local libraries as well.
