Sunday School Christmas Pageant

It's hard to believe that the start of Advent is just a few weeks away. Along with that, it's time to think about the annual Sunday school Christmas Pageant.  Our pageant will be virtual again this year since we have not yet resumed in-person Sunday school for all ages (Planning for January 9!) 

I will be putting together a video to be posted online. This year's theme will be "We All Can Tell The Story." Please check out the options below for children and youth to participate. I hope to make this as easy as possible for us all!

In-person recording: Click on the signup genius link and schedule a time to come to the church and work with Jenny. We will have costumes, scriptures, and readings, and scenes ready to be acted out. If you play an instrument and would like to contribute music we can do that, too!  We will take safety precautions, wear masks, and social distance as needed.  Families with multi-kids and youth can sign up for just one slot.

Submissions: Record something at home and send it to me! I can provide you with scriptures/readings, or just tell us the nativity story in your own words. Also greetings of "Meert Christmas" or "Peace on Earth" would be lovey.  
Artwork and musical submissions are great too!  Another idea is to ask interview questions about the nativity story such as "What is your favorite part of the story."

Below are the words and the music to the traditional Christmas Hymn "Christ is Born This Evening."  Kids and youth signing up for in-person recording practice at home by singing along to the music file. Or, record video or audio while singing along and send it to me for use in the virtual pageant.

The easiest way to record is on any smartphone. Try to ensure the lighting is good in whatever space you use. Make sure to speak loudly. I can lower the volume when I edit, but I can only make it so loud if the recording is faint. Costumes are not necessary but feel free to create your own costumes or borrow costumes from the church.  We can arrange a time for costume pick up or drop off.  Email recording to me  - or if the files are too big for an email, please upload it to Google Drive or Dropbox and send me a link.  Jennyrunew@gmail.com
