Reflections - Psalm 22
Here's what I am thinking about this week: Some days I don't have the bandwidth in my brain to sort out my thoughts and feelings and find words for prayer. On those days, I usually head to the Psalms. This week we are reading Psalm 22 which I love and go to often. It's a beautiful prayer that begins with grief, lament, and sorrow - and then concludes with joy and praise and comfort. The version I have posted here is from The Message. I love the image that the last verse of this prayer leaves us with:
" Babies not yet conceived
When I can't find the words to express what I want and need to say to God - I always come back to Psalm 22. "Punctuate it with Hallelujahs," the psalmist says, It's a good way to end the day.
