Sunday School Weekly Update - April 2
Dear Families of the Children in our Sunday
School Class
Our lesson for the Fifth Sunday in Lent was
from John 11:1-45.
Mary and Martha were friends of Jesus. Their brother Lazarus had died. The
sisters were sure that if Jesus had been there, Lazarus would not have died. Mary, Martha and Jesus were very sad and
cried. Jesus brought Lazarus back to life.
We shared, with each other, times we had been
sad. Were there things that helped to make us happy again? If so, what were
they. Are there things we can do to help someone be happy again when they are
sad? We talked about the Deacons in our
church who look for ways to help make people happy, especially when they are
sick and cannot come to be with our church family.
The children decided to make cards that the
Deacons could bring to those people who were sick and had to stay home.
Who wouldn’t feel happy knowing our children
made these great cards to show God’s love for them when they are sad.
Have a blessed week.
Linda May, Chris Pistorius and Verna
Robinson.
