Sunday School Weekly Update - March 19

Dear Families of our Grade School Class,
Our Bibles lesson for this Sunday was from Exodus 17:1-7. As God had promised, Abraham and Sarah became the Mother and Father of a great nation. They settled in the land of Egypt and were happy for a time. Their numbers increased. The Pharaoh was afraid they were becoming too powerful and forced them to work as slaves. God saw what was happening and led them out of Egypt into the dessert. God promised them a new land. Food was provided by God as they journeyed. However, they were in the dessert and they had no water.
So, the story began. After the story was read the children acted the story out using their own words to express the various characters.

Here are some pictures of the resulting play:

Children chose characters to play and put on their costumes.
(love the shepherdess Princes).

“We are thirsty Moses! Where is the water you said God should provide?”

Did you bring us into the dessert to die?
They whined and shouted and were angry with Moses.

Moses hit the rock with his shepherd’s stick and water gushed out. There was plenty of water for the people and their Animals. The people were happy.
Questions to consider with your children. How did the people change when they got water? What did you learn about God from this story?
As you can see, we had a lot of fun. Looking forward to our class next Sunday.
See you then,
Linda May, Christ Pistorius and Verna Robinson.
