Prayer at Home

Hello! Spring is upon us! This is a great time to create new routines and prayer time for your family at home. Today I am sharing some resources about prayer.

Do you have a prayer routine with yourself or for your family? Here are some things that might help encourage you or get you started.

I recently read this book Scrambled Starts by Jenny Yougman (Upper Room Press). It's a quick easy read about the author's efforts to make prayer a regular part of her family's daily lives.  What I really love about this book is that it includes a collection of prayers - prayers for mealtime, bedtime, special occasions, prayers just for parents, and prayers just for kids. If you are wanting to make prayer time a priority at your house I would give this a read! You can borrow my copy - just ask! (Also available from Upper Room Press and Amazon.)

Buildfaith.org is a website that I like and has great resources for families. Check out these links:

Here are some Prayer Cards that I created - maybe these will be helpful to get you started when you don't know what to say. These are simple prayers that children can easily read and memorize.  Just download and cut them apart!

I hope something here will encourage you to pray together or get you started!

"I know that when I pray, something wonderful happens. Not just to the person or persons for whom I'm praying, but also something wonderful happens to me. I'm grateful that I'm heard."
