Reading Recommendations

 

Just a few recommendations!  Here are some story books for children that we have been reading during our Extended Session times on Sundays.  

 

My Mouth is a Volcano!

I love this one! It's about a little guy with the uncontrollable urge to interrupt.

 

The Most Magnificent Thing
A charming story about perfection,  frustration, and perspective.

Is there a worrier in your house? This book is great. Wilma Jean the Worry Machine  is the story of a girl who can't stop worrying and the steps adults who love her take to teach her to deal with anxiety.

 

This is our current favorite and is requested weekly during Extended Session time with the preschoolers. Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun tells the story about a girl who is just a little bit different then her classmates.  It has a great message about accepting and affirming our differences. And let's face it - spaghetti in a hot dog bun actually sounds pretty yummy!
