The Art of Nicaragua
"Sensation Translation"
Thank you to all of our Sixth Church family and friends who came out on a freezing evening to view and hear about some fantastic art! Artist Susan Powers, who coordinated our art teachings on the 2014 summer mission trip to El Porvenir in Nicaragua, gave an artist's talk about her show called "Sensation Translation." The show features photography, drawings and art created during that trip. Sue documented the process of trip members teaching and sharing various forms of art with our friends of all ages at the coffee cooperative. The show included beautiful and colorful photography from Sue's trips to Nicaragua in 2012 and 2014. The show is on display until February 16 in the education building at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. Please visit if you have a chance!
A special shout out to the 2014 trip participants Meg, Eli, Hanna, Elizabeth, Sonia, Jeff, and Chris who attended. Thumbs up to Ralph and Sara who also spoke during the artists talk.
